NTPC is looking for promising, energetic young Graduate Engineers with brilliant academic record to join the organization as: Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation, and Civil.

Eligibility:
Engineering Executive Trainees (EETs):
Full time Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized Indian University/AMIE with not less than 65% marks, taking average of all the Semesters/Years, irrespective of the weight age given to any particular semester/year by the Institute/University. Final year/ semester students may also apply provided they have obtained at least 65% marks taking average up to pre-final examination. A candidate with the prescribed degree identified for the discipline can only apply for the post of EETs in the respective disciplines:

Job Profile:
The Company of NTPC has been offering recruitment for the post of Executive trainees. The candidates to be recruited will be expected to assist different operations of the company in various allocated departments. The candidates will also be expected to provide co-ordination in between different departments of the organization.

Salary:
The salary or pay scale of the individual's candidates will be decided as on the date of personal interview by the esteem management board of the organization.

Placement:
The selected candidates shall undergo one year training at various places. The final place of posting will be allocated after successful completion of training. Candidates can be placed, across the country, in any of the functions at projects/ stations or offices including joint ventures & subsidiary companies of NTPC.

Selection Process:
There will be written test. Shortlisted candidates will be called for GD and Personal interview. The candidates will be selected as per the written entrance test and personal interview.

The test pattern:
The written test consists of two papers- Technical and Aptitude. The questions of the Technical test depend on the discipline chosen among the five disciplines. The five disciplines are Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Control and Instrumentation. The number of questions in the Technical Test is 120 and that in the Aptitude Test is 50. The questions are of multiple choice types and time allotted is 2 hours. The questions are not very tough but time management is an important issue. Maximum number of questions should be answered for getting a chance, but it should also be remembered that there is a negative marking of 1/4th mark for every wrong answer. The aptitude test questions do not belong to any specific stream. They consists general questions like Synonyms, Antonyms, Fill in the blanks with the most appropriate word, Word Analogies, Comprehension Passages. There can be some questions on problem solving skills. The problems are on topics like time and distance, profit and loss, ratio and proportion etc. It constitutes of 170 questions (120 Tech + 50 Aptitude)
Time: 2 Hrs.
For Tech part the syllabus is same as of the GATE and for Aptitude part R.S.Aggarwal is more than sufficient. As time duration is very short, time management is very important.

Aptitude section:
For this section no special attention is required only R.S. Aggarwal is enough and it also has easy level of English section.

Technical section:
For this section you have to be good in the basics. No hard question was asked but you should be careful about your time. It has also some part of very basic general knowledge. The questions were from following topics:

  • 10-12 Questions about micro processor (8085)
  • 3 Questions about RS232 standard
  • 7-10 Questions of GK
  • 4-6 Questions on opamp
  • 10-15 Questions on Digital Communications
  • 2-5 Questions on microwaves
  • 15-20 Questions on Analog Devices
  • 20-23 Questions on Digital Electronics (flip flops, gates, mux, no system etc)
  • 1 Questions on ISO OSI Model
  • 5-8 Questions on Control System
  • 10-12 Questions on Signals and their Processing.

  22. 1.5 V battery supply same power to R1 and R2 separately (R1>R2).calc the internal resistance of battery
  23. A wire is cut in two halves. One half is again stretched to the twice of length .calc the resistance.
